Giving Thanks for My Mom's Example

In the last years of her life, my mom was an example of taking her health care into her own hands. She made decisions based on her own inner guidance rather than blindly following the established medical protocol. Although her path was not the easiest for her or our family, my mom's quality of life, as well as the dignity she maintained, is an example for me to live by.
